Synopsis
1956, 11 years after the end of the Second World War, the pressure of African countries which greatly participated in the liberation of occupied France, led to the Defferre framework law. A law that opens the way to autonomy for the French colonies in West and Central Africa. Two opposing points of view faced off for the future of the colonies, the Territorialists and the Federalists. The Federalists, with Modibo Keïta in particular, opt for autonomy, which will be followed by independence, within a federation of territories in order to avoid, as Léopol Sédar Senghor said, the balkanization of Black Africa.”Le Train du Retour” tells the story of the supporters of Federalism with their desire to create the Federations of Mali.
